I'm just a lurking truck driver on here but I saw this thread and figured I'd chime in for once.
This site Trucker DVR Dash Cams & More – Protect Yourself Today has some multi-cam systems that you might be interested in. If nothing else it's somewhere to start and see what's out there. -
Op the sytem we had is by RVS, Rearview Safety. We had 2 cameras, but the system would do upto 4.

Are there any systems that send the video back to dispatch or maybe have a live feed you can login to a website and see?
I know there are trailer door sensors out there but it would be nice if dispatch could see exactly how much progress is being made or not instead of calling the driver and him guessing.
The damage aspect would be a bonus. -
This is a great idea. Diesel Boss has wireless multiple camera recording systems.
Or maybeconsider a Wireless home security system. I have been using a Uniden 444 (wireless home security system) for ~5 yrs. It will take 4 cameras. I only use two and have one mounted on each mirror facing rearward. They are infra red but headlights do screw them up. It comes with a hand held display that you can remove from the truck (if you have portable 12v power). Also has a microphone built in to the display and speakers on the cameras you you can yell at the forklift driver while he's in your trailer.kemosabi49 Thanks this. -
rank Thanks this.

So, what happened? I have been looking into this as I am planning to buy my own reefer soon. I was thinking you would need a heated housing so it doesn't fog with the temperature change.

I like the idea of it but I do have some shippers that hand-load just about right up to the ceiling so they have to be pretty small or recessed somehow.
But with the dry van, I have seen they slammed against the side of my trailer and they've dug up my floor.
There's no reason for any of them To be that rough on the trailer. No reason at all.
There was one place they had me disconnect and park next to my trailer and those guys must have been having a competition to see how fast they could go and land in the trailer.
I had to go inside and scream at them.
Yes cameras would help and I like the idea of being able to have a speaker to say you're being recorded slow the f down.Vampire Thanks this. -
It might be hard to see the entire event of the loading process. Especially on loads that are stacked really high. And as they reach the back of the trailer by the doors he probably wouldn’t be able to see the activity with the camera anymore. Also, a lot of referrals continue to run while they’re loading and when the rear doors are open it creates a lot of fog. It’s a good idea though.

Part of upgrading my cam system next year will include 2 cameras in the trailer. 1 in the nose pointing back and one in the back pointing to the nose.
