    Lucky you.

Not luck, it is called morals and ethics... They know from the way I run, and keep them informed, that I will not run illegal.

Hey, I know how to get weather information from various sources.
You missed the point. I was saying that Stevens is on your butt about calling the "weather master" (what a ridiculous term here) so he can tell you to find out by yourself.
What's the point of even bothering to call and wait in line 25 minutes if he can only tell you what you already know?

You do realize that is a computer generated message? And computers are dumb.

You must be kidding me. Since when is that information whether it's a drop or live available on BOL??? They must be giving you different kind of BOLs than they give me.
Load assignment is the same story. Very rarely it says directly "it's a drop" Usually you've got to guess. Sometimes you guess right, sometimes wrong.

Is there a Delivery Before time, or delivery at time. Delivery before is a drop. It is on many bills of lading. Does the load assignment have a "D", that is a drop. A simple phone call to the receiver, and you could not blame your DM. Personal responsibility.

Safety as a department I don't have problems with (mostly).
I was talking about the whole outfit. They preaching safety on every step you're on the yard on one hand, on the other they're pushing you, well maybe not you, they pushing me to keep running. If I tell my DM there is bad weather ahead, I can't make it there safely, he'll tell me that the snowstorm already dissipated, ice melted and flood receded.
They ase not on same page there.

Agreed, they are not on the same page, and never will be... understand how business works, and the goals of each department and you will see the natural conflict between operations and safety. But as soon as dispatch says anything to push me, a quick transfer me to safety, stops them in their tracks.

What kind of examples you want to hear?

True that. Unfortunately I couldn't. But my point was it shouldn't take almost a whole month to get oneself out of the hole for taking 11 days off.

Yes, I do not like Stevens anymore. I thought they were just ok and good company to start with to gain your experience. Also definitely this is a company for people who don't mind to be on the road for months.

Now I've got my experience and now I'm working on getting hired by company which pays .40cpm, I'll be an employee so insurance, 401k, vacation pay and so on... AND I'll be home 2 days every 7.
    Beat that Stevens fans.[/QUOTE]

I hope you find a company that works out for you.

I tell anyone who asks me about Stevens and the lease, if you have a family that you need to be home for, don't do it.. Also if you do not understand a profit and loss statement, you better learn quickly, or you will go broke.

And then they were happy together forever after. Do you know any other story?
You make yourself look so #### righteous it makes me sick on my stomach.
Save your mentor-ship. I understand how business work. Goals of each department should be the same. They're one company with one goal. Safely and legally move the freight. They shouldn't compete with each other.

This statement show you do NOT understand how business works, and how human nature works within a corporate culture.

Now if you did not spend more money than you make, and set aside for a rainy day, and plan for days off, it would not take you 3 weeks to dig yourself out of the whole that you created. Trying to blame it on stevens is Hog Wash. Unexpected things happen in ones life, and one has to deal with them, and NOT blame the company they work for because they overspent for the last 10 years. Or expect the government to bail them out.

Hahaha. So it's ok to bail out big corporations with billions of dollars but if I'm calling for hard working people to be paid and treated fairly, that's a big no-no.

and don't tell me it's Obama's fault because Dubya stated corporate bailouts.

No, corporate bailouts are NOT alright. They are unconstitutional. Dubya was a lib, no doubt about that. Just not as liberal as Obama.

    TLeaHeart Thanks this.

NO Bailout is ok regardless of who granted the bailout.

Your idea of a fair wage, and my idea of a fair wage will differ. I am treated fairly at Stevens. It is not your place to decide what is fair, or right for me. I thank Mr Aaron for providing me the opportunity to learn trucking, to grow, and to be successful. Others including yourself do not. I do not need a million dollars, or a big house, or two cars, two motorcycles....

And I bet, that you think that someone who only has to perform 4 hours a week for 16 weeks is worth 16 million a year.

The #1 income Alliance driver made $369,000 last year. That's not bad. He's from Detroit and yes, he worked his butt off for it and played the game by the rules and well, so it can be done.

There will always be people who think renting/leasing is worse than being a company driver and that's okay. They're both needed. Just let me make my own choice, even if it disagrees with yours, and I will let you make yours, even if it disagrees with mine.

After all, that's the American way!
