You have forgotten how bad you were as a rookie. How many mistakes you made. How long you took to back up. Now you just see all the large companies, as being in your way as you speed down the highway. I have seen the picture you posted of your truck. I can get all your information from the side of that truck. You have posted your personal information to a public sight.
I am sure that people reading this will gain an insight into Stevens to help them make up their own minds.
It will be a great day when people like you sell their trucks and get out of the business of trucking with all your negativity, and your thinking that your way is the only way to be a trucker. -
I haver also completed a leafs with stevens. The only problems vie had that stevens has not resolved are troubles with my truck and other drivers dropping and running with bad tires, I mean really bad tires.
The first one with the truck issues is really not stevens fault but kenworths. Apparently quality is not job one at kefnworth. My tuck has ben down since last friday with an intermittent short in the key switch circuit. I've now been to three Kenworth dealers and none of them can duplicate the problem. Today being totally fed up with it I took charge of the situationf and told the service manager at this albuquerque kefnworth deavler that you don't need to duplicate the problem to fix it, you simply need to find the problem. Of course I gave them a detailed description of what the problem was and they looked everywhere but where this issue would be. They are now doing what I told them to do this morning after I forcefully made sense to them.
The second issue that is with stevens rally starts with other drivers. In the past four weeks, I've feather picked up or received on a reposer only one trailer that was truly ready to roll. One of them Had all eight es in need of replacement. One of the eight was flat, four had cuts in the sidewall and the rest had tread ware down to visible metal. Now he's my problem. How many drivers drove with this trailer either not checking the tires or simply ignoring the problem, running like this and lefaving the problem for the next guy.
Well I'm the next guy that solves the problem, but which I sit and wait to fix the problem the other irresponsible drivers are rolling. They're essentially fixing their problems on my logbook.
Where does stevens fit in with all this? I've complained about this to the highest levels of the company and as of now, I don't see any action being taken to correct this behavior on the part of other drivers. There vmayef action being taken, Its not visible to me. The next time I'm on the yard, I'll be meeting with these higher ups to talk about the problem.
And here's the gist of the trouble.
Csa2010 will hold the company as well as the drivers responsible for such safety issues. This will increase the likelihood of me being unnecessarily inspected since my truck is perfect at all times.
It's costing me time and money and sometimes causing me to lose miles on loads to repowers.
Once again, other drivers are simply dropping their problems on responsible ones and the effect of the company not taking action on this are being rewarded for doing so. In other words, these drivers are stealing from me.
If stevens does not do something about this, I wfill be looking for the firstnlawsuit on this and start my new career as an expert witness on driver responsibility and company responsibility for lawyers to sue trucking companies and I will specialize on stevens. -
By the way, listen to tlhart. He does now what he's talking about and very articulate in doing so. As far as my lease, stevens has delivered what it's promised and this week will be delivering ,more than promised. I am satisfied with the lease if we can fix all the non lease stuff I described in my prior post.

I understand your frustration over the trailers. I will add one more problem, try and get a trailer tire replaced that is questionable, ie has 2/32 tread left on most of the tire, but also has some areas that are bald. Road Rescue will refuse to replace it, with out an argument. Have had that discussion on the last two trailers I picked up. One in the meat patch, one at a Kraft plant. I pushed the issue, and finally got the tires replaced.
After a couple of times being told no by road rescue, and wasting the drivers time, drivers are running the tires until they are so bad, or they explode, to avoid the confrontation with road rescue. Other drivers are just being irresponsible, and pushing the problem off to the next driver. -
I can also tell you that Stevens no longer puts students together, but what's more when they did you had to go through the work with a trainer first. Additionally they did not run them like a team. There are certain situation and certain times of day that you needed specific permission to run at all ... let alone with another student in the bunk ... in those cases both drivers had to be awake and in the front of the truck (EG running after Midnight).
As far as the Aaron's go. I'll just say that I believe in the rights of ANY individual to make money (within the laws as they are written) is what this country was founded upon.
If you didn't make money with Stevens, I'd wager you ran like you claim to run your current truck. If you're averaging less than 110k a year (which would be 825k miles in the 7.5 years you claim to have been running your truck) then you're not running hard enough to qualify as a lease op at Stevens.
You claim that you made over $90k in year ... or did the truck make that money ... there is a difference. How much did YOU make that year?!
Just my 2 cents. -
