Headquarters are in eastern Tennessee (Chatanooga, I think).

Now owned by Swift Transportation -- along with AAA Cooper, and a few others.

Basically....the trucking industry's version of "vanilla".

What else would you like to know?

    Correction. Owned by Knight/Swift Holdings
    Corporation. Along with……….

    Barr-Nunn
    Abilene Motor Express
    AAA Cooper
    US Express, Variant, Total Transportstion

A few brokerage companies and the company that makes the trailer skirts for all trailers corporation wide.

It’s been 5.9 years since they bought us, and everything looks like, smells like, and tastes like Knight. My take after 11 years driving here, meh.

In response to your question, you mainly will pull US Express trailers. Occasionally you will pull Swift, Barr Nunn, Abilene and the rest. All our freight is handed out according to how many trucks they have piled up in an area. I pull Knight freight, Swift freight and a ton of Knight Brokerage freight.

If you want to be a piece of white paint on the wall, this is the place.

All the divisions are independently run. I’m with Abilene. But we all have the Knight/Swift corporate policies. Good starter company? All of them are. Get your one year in, then move onto something better, like the LTL side of trucking, or specialized like food grade tanker.

Cool, thanks, would you recommend starting in Flatbed straight out from CDL school? I'm in CDL school right and I heard good things about Melton and was thinking about joining them when I graduate.

If that’s what you want to do then sure. If you want to do flatbed, I think COTC out of Redmond Oregon hires out of CDL school. From my understanding, they hire all over and are pretty good.
