mine broke and i missed getting traffic updates with it...also had trouble communicating with a driver his placard was falling off. Its all aerodynamics though. Would you rather a long range cb, or a short range one with a truck getting .10 mpg better.

I have both the mirror mount on the drivers side (Running a Predator 10k) and the convex passenger side look down mirror mount 2 perch. Looks similar to this, except mine has a 2 perch mount. Walcott Radio sells this one:

The one I have was supposedly first designed by one of the maintenance techs who works for Epes and then it went commercial. I bought mine at the T/A CB shop in Wytheville.

My mirror mount on the drivers side has been there well over a year and is directly wired to my CB (SWR 1:1-1:5) no ground or bonding strap and no problems whatsoever. Wiring it directly also by passes the crappy antenna diplexor mounted behind the dash all the antenna leads that run into and then out of.

I would recommend using the 2 mounting hole bracket (Top and bottom) rather than just the "Shaft" type as they've been known to break off the backside mounting piece inside the door.

As for mounting side, almost every tech I've come across recommends it should always be mounted on the drivers side.

I got the spot mirror mount from Walcott....It looks pretty fragile and small on the threaded end so I may try it with a 4 ft Francis or the Wilson fiberglass.
I don't expect it to handle much of an antenna.
Looks like I will end up getting the 2 bolt bird perch for the drivers door.

    The Challenger Thanks this.

I use the passenger side mirror mount for my XM antenna on the front and the second perch has my Wilson Signal Booster antenna mounted on it.

Thanks guys.....My Sirius antenna is attached to the top lip of the visor using 3M tape.It is the little magnetic disc like for a car.
    Works good though....100% signal.
The factory TV antenna is so-so....Not as good as the Pete or my old ProStar but it works.

I'll end up getting the driver door perch and either use my Monkey Made or Wilson 5k...
It sucks I have a Galaxy 94HP that needs 25 amps and they won't let us wire anything to the battery......so i'm stuck using my Galaxy 44V.
Still a good talking radio but not near as nice as the 94....

    The Challenger Thanks this.

Heck I was assigned a truck from Ryder that wasn't even wired for a CB radio. On top of that, Ryder said I could not mount anything on the truck that was not approved or installed by a Ryder shop. That company had so many restrictions I couldn't stand it. No family riders, no idle trucks, completely underpowered to lowest possible spec. I guess its what trucking has become these days.

Pro Comm makes a nice mirror mount.
Better than the bird perch types.

Had two on a 2018 Cascadia. Two 7’ Skip-shooters, own coax and power. Was limited by other operators radio setup, 10-15 miles most any time.

The Hirschmann Thin Film antenna is worth 1-2 miles.
