We have been driving through Texas for awhile now and have been on the toll roads. We see the signs that say pay by mail, so we figured we would eventually get a bill in the mail. We havent received a bill and its been months! Im pretty sure TX cant be that forgiving as to not wanting their toll $$. Does anyone know if we are supposed to get a bill or are we just supposed to pay it (as i have NO way of knowing how much it is by now) Ive contacted TX DOT they sent me TxTag and i never got a response from them. What happens if they dont get paid? What do we do? Thanks in advance for any info
Anyone know about Texas tolls?

I went through that one in Austin a few years ago, nothing in the mail yet...

But, Louisville KY, I-65, IN/KY state line, bridge toll... The wife has gone over it twice, and she gets a nasty letter in the mail demanding payment within two weeks of her visiting her sister. They threaten you with license suspension and worse. We are in Michigan, and I refuse to go to Kentucky, screw them.CDL CPL Thanks this. -
A lady I used to work with is one of the top toll scofflaws in Dallas. She has a good job but has a tab of about $1200 last time I checked.
CDL CPL Thanks this. -
She's an amateur at $1200...

There's a badly kept secret regarding Texas toll roads and big trucks. Stop contacting anybody about it and stay off the toll roads that do NOT offer pay by mail.
FrankCDL CPL and Justrucking2 Thank this. -
Some of the places we deliver to, theres no choice but to use those tolls roads. Thats basically what i decided was to not contact them anymore. I have the proof i tried to pay them and noone ever got a hold of me. As for those other states i checked up on those one time me missed one in IL and needless to say i sent the check the next day for it. Lol TX tolls are stupid all diff prices at diff places to hard to remember it.
Good to know that we arent the only ones who have done this.Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info!!

It has been reported that the tolltag readers that take a picture of the license plates can't figure out out of state license plates. Therefore, they can't send the letter with the toll amount. Until you get a bill in the mail, you can't pay it. If you get stopped, play dumb.

Seems like out of state folks get away with it for whatever reason . I did it for years in a POV while stationed in TX with an out of state plate .. My Dad back home never got one billing statement in the mail , NOT ONE!!
