If yiou have alot of experience they should just give you a set of keys after your road test. All these companies have their nose up the insurance companies #####. Within two days driving, you will feel like you never got out of trucking to begin with. The recent experience requirement is just B.S. and another way for them to pay a person less.

I live in Iowa and am around CRST trucks quite frequently. Not a very considerate bunch of drivers. Have had a couple of times, when running heavy, that I slowed on hills and then got my speed back on the downside. Have had a couple of times where CRST drivers were pitching a fit on the CB about how they couldn't pass me. Like I am supposed to keep the slow speed going back down the hill and not build up speed for the next hill. I try to avoid those "turtle races" with company trucks that are choked to 62-65 mph. I can run considerably faster, but do get slowed on hills when grossed out. Have had several CRST drivers pull right back in front of me with no more than 20 ft between them and my front end. And several instances of bellyaching because they couldn't pass and would have to go back to the right lane till the next hill. One of their new hires, while with a trainer that was asleep in the bunk, pulled out in front of one of our trucks on I80 in Wyoming. No 4-ways on, LE figured CRST going about 5 mph, late at night coming off the shoulder. Our truck couldn't get out of the way due to traffic and plowed into the back of the CRST truck, killing our driver. CRST has some pretty sorry CSA scores to boot. Get the idea that a new driver should look elsewhere?

I was pretty neutral about CRST for lots of years, but the last 5 years I have rapidly developed a negative attitude towards CRST drivers.

hubby drove for crst long enough to find out just how badly they treat their drivers. when his truck broke down at their yard in fontana ca, with the steering wheel out of the column and the dispatcher told him to drive the truck anyway or they would find someone who would, was the time he told them fine go ahead he was done. so i suggest anyone run, dont walk, run from this company before you have to go thru something like this too!
