I have. Had a reverse light. It didn't go on because the harness on the back of it had shaken loose. Got a ticket.

Ok, well you got me and I saw the reg above. No-one has ever checked that on my truck except for somebody at a T/A once doing an annual inspection did. I think this is one of those tickets where driver attitude determines if you get it or not. Lots of drivers dont seem to understand a permit book and truck can be perfectly fine, or disorganized shambles, doesn't really matter, but the real test is your attitude when you first walk up to the LEO and they ask "Hi driver how are you today?" your response there matters...

Not trying to get you Coal just giving the benefit of my experience is all. I went 12+ years without knowing that rule but then I met NYS Trooper Spak, who is just a 5 ft 6” tall young dick with a small man syndrome

I know man some of them are just dick heads out for anything regardless. I got a level 2 a few weeks ago and they never asked about it but in the back of my mind I know about it and it could happen. ,
