    Heavyhaulerss,

Is it worth the time on the road, with the extra expenses, such as insurance which at present runs me $200 a month for lease on, which I know running with my on trailer and flatbed will be cost me more, trailer upkeep, overnight expenses, eating out, or is it all about the lifestyle. I just don't like knowing that someone is making the same money as me for doing very little. I'm spending 12 to 14 hours a day 5 days a week to bring home $1500 were as I could be bringing the same amount in at 3 days with 2 nights out. Less miles on me and truck, presently running 2500. If this is the case I had rather spend a couple of nights out for more home time. Average intermodal lease on $1.50pm, average flatbed $2.50-$3.00pm.

    woodgraine83,

You can expect about $1.50 loaded per mile, $1.00 empty, they run on computer which will be a $1,500 escrow taken out in the first 10 weeks then $11.00 a week that you pay to track you, insurance $200 a month, split up and taken out weekly. They have all the work you will need and you will have to figure out what works for you, hours, load weight, where to pull from and where to pull to, you will have to register everywhere, consider the first two to three weeks a long haul after that it all hinges on you, just remember that if you are running off the clock and something happens the responsibility falls on you, their insurance does not have to pay. In Memphis or any city know your traffic time frame and routes it can save you big time.
    Hope it helps.

    shogun,

Running for IMCG, rates running about $1.50 a loaded mile, the catch is a can decide on weight of load and where I am going. What kind of weight are they pulling, I can tell you, it makes the difference of $200-$500 a week. Not even counting wear on your truck, factor in rebuild and what are you making, right.

    sdc49,

Thank you for the information. It really helped me out. Besides the long hours do you like IMCG? Do you like their lease purchase program? and do you think I will bring home at least 1200.00 after all my deductions? Im really thinking about going on and giving them try.

If you haven't already signed, talk to JAMAC Logistics in Memphis. They are good folks.

Home time is expensive. Many are wiling to accept less to be home nightly so they pay less. A good regional expedite should get you home regularly and get you $2 min to the truck.

Haven't really been there that long, they look out for themselves and you need to do the same. So far they have been okay by me, you have problems with chassis alot, but I suspect that everyone does since every company basically uses the same ones, you spend alot of your time for free on some days, but again I would say it just goes with the industry, like the old saying goes, you can't have the roses without the thorns.
The lease plan I have no idea about, bought my truck outside of them. It will depend on deduction for lease purchase. they have the work, just keep in mind maintenance cost.

    Thanks BigBadBill,

I never got back with because I kind of figured it was something outside of home every night. I could run logs loaclly for $3.50 a loaded mile if I wanted to run mudders on truck and pull 1oo.ooo lbs out of the woods with a skidder pushing trailer but I'm not interested in that either. I just wanted to make sure I was in the ballpark with what I am doing.

But I do thank you for info.
