My limits were more equipment based. I loved pulling a tanker and want to get back into it one day, but after dealing with some really stupid loads requiring 150+ ft of hose and a pump off i decided it aint for me.

And compartment trailers. Even worse. Ive seen some tanks rolling down the highway with 2 flammable placards, a corrosive and a poison. No thanks... As far as im concerned if a customer deals with products that need to be pumped, they should buy there own equipment and do the unload themselves.

When pulling and delivering water treatment chemicals, or chemicals to steel mills, it almost always requires the driver to pump off or blow off the load. Chemical companies will almost always unload their own. I never really minded the unloads, it;s a workout. My problem was dealing with the BS at tank washes.

I've found that as far as chemical plants go, it's about 50/50. 4 loads this week. 2 were customer unloads, 1 I pumped off, 1 I pump loaded, and 1 drop and leave.

Couldn't agree more about washes. Trailer I hooked to Thursday had about 4 gallons of prior product in the belly line. Good thing one of us was doin their job.

I hauled crude oil, just don't spark. Acid hauling scared me. Delivering in the desert. No place to wash if you get some on you. A few drops eats the rocks up underneath your hose.

Different types of acid do different types of things. Hydrofloric acid smells bad. REAL bad. But you can put your bare hand in a bucket of it. For a short amount of time. Then you'd better rice it off.

Hydrofluoric acid is real bad. It soaks into the skin and attacks the calcium in the bone.

Sure that's not hydrochloric acid? Maybe I'm mistaken, I just know that ONE of those two are in your stomach, in much smaller quantities.

both are bad....hydrochloric causes severe burns, but hydroflouric soaks into your body, becomes systemic, and requires antidote....if it dont kill ya first

I normally wouldn't ever do that, but it's not life ending if some gets on you, was what I was going for. Guess I didn't pull that off so well
