We still do quite a few for them, tho like a lot of things the rate is no where near what it used to be.

If I can find a better way to make a living, I'm quitting.

You can't say "fatter". You may insult or hurt someone's feelings. You could have used a kinder gentler term such as "I'm expanding" or " I'm growing" . Please keep this in mind while posting. Thank you for your cooperation. :)

Oh, and hedouble hockey sticks no! I ain't quittin. I'm expanding also.

Just curious as to why you don't have an account set up with a rental outfit (Ryder, et. al)? For around $110/day out of pocket, you could be pulling loads with their equipment until yours is back out of the shop. Better than nothing.

And when your hood got taken off, you should have hit the other driver's insurance company hard for loss of income payment for the time your truck was down. They would expect you to mitigate the loss, but they would have paid the cost of the rental at the very least.

What's sucks is us open deck guys have a lot of crap on our trucks headache racks, chains and more flatbed stuff that a rental company probably would frown upon putting a headache rack on their trucks.

I can't remember who it is, but they put up pics of how they set their trailer up. Everything is on the trailer, in boxes. No headboard. Said he did it that way, so if he ever did need a rental, all his gear is with the trailer. It was cool how he did the chain hangers in the boxes.

I didn't even make it to January 1. I left the day before Halloween. No more OTR if I can help it. I'm still looking for a full-time permanent local gig. In the meantime, I have two part-time jobs. Elogs weren't even the reason. Poor management (we don't bid on loads at night, we'll lie about Canada runs to get you to work for us, but we'll never file the paperwork... etc) is the reason I split.

You're in Colorado. Can't find any crude hauling jobs? I remember seeing a lot of pump jacks between Boulder and Fort Collins when I was there.
