These days you aren't wrong. The only new truck out there that even remotely catches my eye these days is the new 49X Western Star. Even then that's only when its a heavy spec day cab. Then again I never cared for the look of a sleeper.

Well the mechanic looked at the truck today, pretty sure we won’t have to rerail but everything forward needs to be replaced, says it can probably be back up
And running in 2 weeks, waiting for the $ value, on repairs and insurance comes tomorrow, see what happens

Probably, but getting 225 financed and having 225 cash are two totally different questions. Not to mention the time it will take. So you will have to buy a beater to run for 6 months to a year. Which means it will require money to keep it going in addition to the 225 you are forking over to repair the other truck.

I didn’t know what ~100k worth of receipts was going to look like but this if a smaller pile then I thought… IMG_1891.jpeg

edit: $0.30 a mile just for the major repairs, I’d have to double check the book at home but I’m pretty sure the smaller/Pm stuff included is $0.49 total, right at 69k a year average

Hopefully they do a good job of fixing it. You'll probably be a lot happier with it fixed than being in on of the new trucks. I know I would be.
