Of course! Good luck with the repair, looks like your 97 is worth saving for sure.

I might have my head up my hind end but I think a flat glass W900L with either a 42" flat or a 60" Aerodyne 1 is the best looking truck that Kenworth ever built. When they have wing windows instead of daylite doors and a 3406E under the hood, even better.

Regarding the 589, I drove one about 50 miles a couple months ago. It was a daycab with a 500 cummins and a 13 speed. I didn't hate it but I just don't care for the dash or smart wheel. I kept accidently scrolling through the dash settings with my thumb when turning the steering wheel, I got worried when my air pressure info disappeared for a minute until I figured out what happened and scrolled back to where I started. I like actual gauges not screens. I noticed a slight lag on the tach that annoyed me. I'm sure I would get used to it after some seat time but it just didn't feel like a long hood Pete normally feels. I do like the way they mounted the mirrors compared to all the other wide cabs.

The hydraulic clutch doesn't have much feel, either. The KWs and Petes are built with the same cabs these days so almost any KW will be the same way. The W9 is the only one left still using the narrow cab and gauges that don't move.

W900 has a sunset date but nobody can say what it is.

    Might be demand dependent?

Just going by what a salesman said on YouTube and what a local salesman has said. Both have said they can be ordered now but there is a date set. If I had to guess I’d say end of next year since MY27 is the next round of emission stuff.

Unconfirmed rumors are that narrow cab production in Renton is down to one line and that there may be a redesign of the hood for the 990.
