A bit off topic but saw a vid on ttr yesterday that NY will make dealers sell 1 EVtruck per 4 diesel powered . State is giving permits to dealers , no diesel permit until you sell another EVtruck . Crazy .
Thread title , New clean truck rules causing concerns .

In the video they already said the state is being flexible on it since the reality of no-one is buying them because there's no infrastructure anywhere for them. They're giving another 3 years. I don't think it will be enough time. The infrastructure isn't going to be there in 3 years or 10 years. Electric heavy duty trucks are a political fad that won't ever work in the real world.1951 ford, MACK E-6, thatsright and 2 others Thank this.

Oh I don't know, I would bet that there are many ltl outfits and local delivery companies that will invest in them, especially if they are given incentives (not that I agree with that), and they may work out well in some situations. What I disagree with is the government dictating what will be used rather than allowing technology and demand to choose.
-
Yeah agreed with you on the government wrongly picking winners and losers no matter what the intentions are. And increasing complications/costs for all of us in the process. I mean we don't even know what these electric vehicles true cost is. Electricity is dirt cheap and rates relatively stable for now. That can't be the case when every vehicle out there is plugging in for a charge. Sorry for going off topic.broke down plumber and Oxbow Thank this.
