I need to know if I can still run a headache rack on a mid 90's FLD that has dual exhaust running along the sleeper. Anyone running one or one similar?

Why couldn't ya?
-
Yea as long as you got swing room when you turn
I have a Fld but my stack is on the side not rearJimmyWells Thanks this. -
Hook to your trl. Then make a hard left or right and then get out and measure your space from trl to back of sleeper
peterbilt_2005, johndeere4020 and JimmyWells Thank this. -
It won't work with an RGN unless you have fenders on it.
But if your hooked to any 102" wide trailer, all you have to do is articulate to 45 degrees. That puts the corner of the trailer as far forward as it will get.JimmyWells Thanks this. -
You mean if I DON'T have fenders on it, it will fit?
-
Well, in a scenario where the front corner of a regular trailer WOULD hit your rack, an RGN won't because a regular gooseneck is more narrow.JimmyWells and johndeere4020 Thank this.

Ideally you would buy a headache rack designed to fit the truck. Not the other way around.
I have a Columbia with dual exhaust out the back. It has a condo sleeper with the extensions/fenders. I pull a 53x102 step. Plenty of room.
Dont try to over think it. Measure the space,.. and buy what you think will work.

How's the kingpin setback on your step?
Something else to keep in mind as well.JimmyWells Thanks this. -
That for me or the OP?
Mine has 18inch set back with the 5th wheel set all the way rearward. That and I have a slightly longer than average wheel base Columbia. I can overhang 3 - 4 ft off the front with out issues,.. even with the headache rack in place.
