Anyone start PSD on 12/20/2011?

You have to do the physical with primes doc. You can bring the paper with though. At worse if prunes doc has a problem. You could say your doc didn't. Might help.

 

If you go to Prime you're getting a Prime physical and drug test. The federal government sets the minimum standards for obtaining a medical card for each state. However, every company can exceed those medical standards as to who will be allowed to drive for them.

It all comes down to liability for the trucking company thus many trucking companies use their own doctors who have a vested interest in protecting the company and reducing liability and insurance costs.

If you passed a DOT physical already, you should be fine for Prime. There's a couple of additional hoops you get to jump through... some minor physical stuff, and maybe screening for sleep apnea.

 

Like IP said, if you passed a DOT physical at home you will more than likely pass the physical at Prime. Think of Prime's physical as a second opinion. Kind of like buying a used car: do you take the dealers word on whether the car is mechanically sound or do you take it to your own mechanic (someone you trust) for a once over?

Unless you have something you're trying to hide you should pass the physical at Prime with flying colors. If you fail the physical at Prime all they can do is send you home and you don't owe them a single dime.
