I retired from FedEx Custom Critical last year.

Ah, another know-it-all who knows nothing about that which they speak of... Yay for us
-
Truth is the truth, maybe a little to direct on my part but truth non the less.

Then i would think that both your dad and father-in-law would tell you the same thing. That trucking is nothing compared to what it once was and after 8 years,i would think that you have seen a difference in trucking compared to what it was when you got started. As far as your home time is concerned. If you own your own truck then you can go home when ever you want but if your driving for a company then you go home when they tell you you can go. I said that there were very few exceptions to my comments and there are a few really good companies out there. But as a whole, trucking companies dont give a flip about you and treat you as such.
You think about it. I made just as much money 15 years ago as i did before i retired but with the huge increase in fuel, tolls and everything else that goes alone with it over the years. I was in reality, putting less in my checking account compared to what i was back then.
And as far as Prime goes. How many negative topics and or comments have you found here and on various other trucking forums regarding Prime? Hundreds! I find it funny that people will believe that JB,Swift ,Werner,CR England and others are really some of the worst to drive for based on others drivers opinions but because of the Prime fain club on this forum, people will believe that Prime is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Anytime a large company offers in house CDL training there is a reason for it and that is because they cant keep drivers behind the wheel so they have to train people to fill the seats!
Now. I'm going to end with this.....if your thinking about driving for Prime then go for it. It may work out for you and then again you may get shafted just like many others have before you,but at least you will know for yourself.
.....and that's all i got to say about that. -
So i guess your one of those who, after 1 year of trucking thinks that he knows more than those of us who have considerable more experience. So,who is the know it all here?
-
I'm sure you have lots of knowledge about trucking - it would be appreciated if you shared that in a postive manner. Since you ran for Fedex, I doubt you know very much about Prime, and since that's the case, why don't you restrict your comments to something you can be authoritative about?
Thanks. If you want to continue bashing Prime, please take your comments to the "Bad Trucking Company" folder.DenaliDad, OpenRoadDreamer, McBjork and 1 other person Thank this. -
I dont pretend to know what I dont know, unlike some others

Well my experience so far with Prime(after 1 week) is they have done everthing they said they would, and they have not sugar coated what I should expect to happen working for them. All the guys here in orientation that have had problems, were not because of Prime, its something they did(fall asleep in class) or something they didn't do(pass alcoholism test-still don't know how they do that). So if it continues this way, what more can you expect from a company but to do what the say they will do.
Lucky week to be in training, 47 students, 67 instructors, won't be sitting around waiting for an instructor to go out with, their already calling.
Met ORD last night, great to put a face with post and screen name. Just like I told him, I appreciate the honest commentary by people who actually work for Prime, it helped me come into this with a realistic view of what to expect. -
I was just noticing your tag line, Your statments don't sound very christian to me
