Anyone use GPS tracking apps for your spouse?

LOL ... I don't even call my wife when I'm out. If she's got something to say to me she'll call ... about every 10 days.

 

TripleSix, that's hilarious, you know, sometimes you can't help but eavesdrop on people, and this is the kind of baloney people are using cell phones for. I guess she is concerned for his well-being, perhaps a tad insecure, but I just think of the days before cell phones, how did we ever make it? Remember, MsFortune, people drive trucks because they want to be alone, as least I did, he's not on the front line of our latest quagmire war dodging machine gun fire. He's fine.

Most of the time, when the lady gets insecure, she calls. We talk on the phone and she's okay. At the end of our day, we talk, undistracted. We tell her where we are at, and what time we are going to start tomorrow. She goes to bed.

We have to be careful what we say. If you hit a slick patch of road and did an involuntary lane change, you dont tell her. Why? Because she will worry. Worrying makes women sick. Do you want your lady sick from worry? I dont. Now, if she thinks you are a screwup, shes going to nag you into submission (remove your spine), and bark orders at you and have you doing stupid pet tricks...AKA putting a dog collar and a leash on you. A fate worse than death. It's like being trapped on your own personal reality TV show.

 

I remember back in the days(I still live in) when we NEVER talk about our women(spouses, live-in girlfriends). We only talked about who had the fastest truck, who had the biggest C.B. radio, and where we can chase the women. These days(New Generation) its all about "Where are you Dear", every half hour. Good thing for caller I.D., you know when not to answer, and disable the locator when your pre occupied.

 

As long as he knows its no problem. Unless I'm mistaken, he has to activate it on his end so it's no problem. I haven't ever used anything like this, but I'm not opposed either. It's software that activates the phone in undesired ways I'm opposed to having, and have software on mine to prevent them from being installed.

 

Hi DD, boy, you got that right. I can't think of a better invention than caller i.d. I remember the 1st truck I drove with a phone, when that thing rang, I almost went through the roof. It was a sound I just never heard in a truck. Even to this day, it startles me.
BTW, I too was an "outlaw trucker". Broke every rule that would bend, didn't kill anyone, just got the job done. Drove a truck once for a friend, on his sleeper, he had "Outlaw Division" on the side. Once a trooper gave him a lot of trouble about that. We had a lot of fun back then.

 

MsFortune. Well, we have an honest difference of opinion. It would be unacceptable to me, but it really only matters if it works for you and boyfriend. I wish you nothing but the best with your man.

I see you are also in PHX. Maybe you should go with him for the next 3 months and get out of this horrendous heat!

my wife and I truly trust each other so have no tracking apps, I call her once a day when im on the road and she will ask which stores im headed to and then thats it and then I text her when i stop for the night but she is normally asleep by then.

I can see some pros to the app but I do not like being "watched" even if I am doing nothing wrong at all. I have a friend who has trackers on his phone and his wife will sit and watch making sure he is where he is supposed to be if she is not attached to the other end of the leash.

Now as for not hearing from your spouse......these trucks in the current day have tracking capabilities and the company can find you if something is wrong...
