it’s a 4CK19297 is s# on block and 425hp Isn’t hard to start and I will it comes and goes the fuel lines didn’t do anything I couldn’t really notice to much of a difference the numbers on the pump are 7e5888 still white smokin
this is my first cat motor so re time the pump and I’m assuming you have to set motor to top dead center to make sure it’s timed correctly right? Or you think maybe somone has messed with the Allen screws that turn it up
There is a hole in flywheel that lined up with a quarter inch pipe plug hole just above the starter. Turn the motor in direction of rotation with either a flywheel turning tool or a 15/16 socket on the front balancer bolts till the hole in flywheel is lined up perfectly with hole above starter. A 3/8 bolt should thread into the flywheel. The pull valve covers check the valves on cylinder #1 make sure they are both loose. If they are not see if #6 is. That’s how you tell if your on compression stroke of 1. Both valves will be loose. #6 will be what’s called cross valved, they will both appear closed but will have no slack in either. Then pull the plug in middle of the pump 9/16 size head on plug. Take a long 3/8 bolt and cut the threads off. Chamfer or bevel the end just a touch. That bolt should slide in slot in that hole perfectly. Tight but not binding. I cannot stress how precise this step is. As little as the thickness of a fingernail off where the pin or bolt goes in pump can be 7 to 8 degrees in timing. Now your gonna ask around and some ###### is gonna tell you to advance it a 1/4 to a half a hole. If you like cracked piston crowns by all means do so
You can pull them and have them pop tested. My bet is on the timing though it probably revs a bit sluggish. Which will be another indication of timing as wel as a slight flat spot or almost a skip when free reving one
