I had worked for SLT expressway and i'm telling you they are terrible. They treat their drivers like crap and what they advertise for getting paid on their trailers per mile is a load of crap. The company is a shotty company that is owned by a lawyer who was disbarred in Utah. Also, dont take any loads from them or M3O because they have financial problems as well. They never pay the drivers for the loads. They will fill your head with a lot of bs claiming they are the industrial leaders in shipping department of defense materials which i can honestly say is BS. They do haul some Department of defense stuff but they are not the leader in this aspect. Take it as you will. The only positive notes you will find on this company are on forums where their IT department (One guy) LIVES OFF OF. He poses as truckers talking how great they are. They advertise mostly on craigslist and forums. The free stuff because once again they are cheap. If you do work for them then ask them why if they are such a reputable company do they have to have two different names (SLT EXPRESSWAY on the trucks but actual company name is Cactus leasing) and why they never pay the drivers.

Do search again. Bad company. They are out of Glendale, AZ. Screw you on pay and hometime. Not a driver oriented company at all. Sorry, have worked for them for 2 years. Lies, lies, lies. Getting ready to start another company soon. If you want to be beat down, not paid, never go home, and drive equipment that needs repair this is the company for you.

We were owner operators at R&R Trucking for 4 years. When we started with them we hauled loads out of Oklahoma to Washington for $11,800. Right after that SLT came into the industry and the last time we hauled that same load to Washington the rate was $6400.00.
SLT and AAT have ruined the A/E market. Their cut rate techniques as well as having the most unsafe drivers in the industry have hurt every carrier hauling A/E.
This past August we left R&R Trucking because they had lost so much business to SLT and AAT that we were starving to death. We currently lease to Green Valley Transportation, still hauling A/E freight, and have been very happy and busy since coming here.

SLT changed their name to Secured Land Transport. Dyno Nobel bought controlling interest in the company!

There are owner operators over here at Landstar, yeah I moved on from Green Valley, that are looking for teams to haul AA&E freight. The good thing about Landstar is that when AA&E freight slows down you can always haul regular FAK.

I'm supposed to attend orientation at SLT on Feb 17, 2014. They advertise a daily pay rate of $142 a day. Is that comparable to what other companies are paying? Hearing a LOT of negatives about this company. Any advice? :biggrin_2552:

If I was going to drive a company truck for one of these AA&E companies I would probably hire on with Boyle. They seem to have the best compensation package of all of them.

One thing to remember......SLT hurt the rates for AA&E freight so much that the other companies hate them and have been known to cause their drivers problems or report them if they make a mistake. Do you want to drive for someone like that?

I learned from working with R&R that a O/O should never work for a company that has their own trucks....The O/O will sit when freight gets slow. That is why we work for Landstar, no company drivers to compete with and other freight when govt freight get's slow.
