you have to provide your own transportation to the school. The cartersville, GA school is within walking distance from the hotel. Ohio and Wisconsin school they provide transporatation from the hotel to the school.

I've talked with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Massachusetts State Police. They DO NOT recommend you utilize Millis' truck & trailers for your road test. Seems with the 53' trailer and a tractor with a sleeper you won't have any room to maneuver. I don't know the answer on how to get around it, unless you can find a CDL school in Mass. to rent a truck from. Probably $300.00 to $400.00 for the day, if you can find one. Logistically it can be a nightmare for your trainer as well.

Not too bad, I have read alot of horror stories of other companies that make me glad that IM here. I made a little over 60 k last year. I drive an 06 KW with 326000 miles. I get home every other week for 3 full days off.Any question please ask. A minor setback was listed today due to high fuel prices our trucks will be set back to 66 mph. Any questions pease ask.

I had to tell Millis I will not be going to Cartersville for monday.I'm going to do local then apply in a year if I want to go otr. They told me to make sure my local job covers 4-5 states. Thats not a problem for new england (RI,MA,CT,VT,NH,MAINE) PLUS THE COMPANIES GO TO NEW YORK & NJ. Starting tonight as a fueler/yard jockey for Greylawn Foods then should drive for them or one of the applications I put out should call in 3-6 wks. One company said I'm hired once the winter and black ice season is over. She takes newbies and puts them with an experienced trainer(teams) to california. Once the trainer say's your good to go you can run teams with him or another person or go solo regional.

They have in the past rented a 48' trailer to take CDL tests in Mass. I would call Mike Millis and verify this with him first.

Yep, talked to Mike Millis last week. He was the one who suggested I search for a rental. According to Mike Millis, Maryland is in the same boat as Mass.

Hey chuck, My Interview went great with ABF. The TM approved my application and is now sending it off to Arkansas for approval. I should hear back in 2-4 wks, He said to continue to do landscaping on the side because at this time its slow and at the start I will work a few days a week and will then goto Fort Smith for Schooling. He said In this business sometimes its about great timing and persistence. He said I was very persistent and respectful every-time I called him and he told me to called back. (Persistence goes a long way) I thanked my union school director and my cousin & his friend for putting in the good word.It worked! I brought the TM copies of my Drivers License,Driving record,Med card,Graduation certificate and BCI. He told me to come here and work hard, be on time and he will be happy.:biggrin_255:
