Have you been in FTW TX? Millis is supposed to have drop yard here. Also do you haul out to Miller Brewery here? Thanks.

Thanks. I did call them today to check on my application (I applied last week). The representative I spoke with said that my application is just waiting for the training director to review it. I hope that is a good sign!

I applied in Jan. I can either choose April 29 or May 5ty as start date. You'll get an acceptance letter, with a medical card and the DOT long form physical. Once you get your physical done you fax that back to Millis, then pay the $100.00 for your 20/20 (background) check and your MVR. Then you'll be given class dates for the location you'd like to attend. You make your own arrangements to get there, i.e. bus, plane that's out of your pocket. You'll need $400.00 the first day of class to cover the hotel costs.

I'm either going to Cartersville, GA. The school is only 1/4 mile away from the Hotel (walking distance) or Richfield. Dunno yet.

Thanks a ton for that info! I only live about half hour from Richfield, so that is where I would want to go.

Do you plan/hope to work for Millis after school or look to go on from there to a different company?

They just took over the yard postion at Miller in FT Worth. THy are running some local runs out of the brewery. I carry a load of bottles out there about every other month. Last month they sent a company msg looking for people to re locate to TX for local postion.

It is best is you can swing it to bring your own car to training. You will have weekends off. As for cash, the $500 is for school, plus you will need to bring food and spending money for the time at training. I would also figure in a week to 10 days of on the road money with trainer until your pay starts.

Hey Mark, how 'ya making out? Don't see you much on the other site. Hope all is well at Millis. Making the move to upsate PA soon, then i'll decide if i'm going to Millis, or trucking at all. Retirement is sweet.

I run the South East Reg, out of Ga, never been too Tx. Seen the message about the relocation. If I did not own my home here in Ga, I would had jumped on that deal.
