Here's one I haven't see here yet - I'm a marathon runner. When I'm training I'll run anywhere from 3 - 22 miles (4-5 days week). I know running those distances isn't going to happen on the major roads - how hard is it to find areas to park off the major routes that would give me access to roads to run on when i have down time where I won't be alongside cars doing 70 mph? Or when waiting on an unload - what do those areas look like - pretty sketchy that you wouldn't want to leave the truck?

I try to have variety working different groups.

A days involve- Push ups about 200 of the sit ups 200 reps squats 200 back twists 200 then yoga(helps my back)

B days- bicep curls miltary press pull ups back lifts hamstring curls the running.

C days are light days some cardio stretching.

It on average eats up a hour of my day but it pays off i can run longer without being fatigued and when i am home i have energy to play with my daughter.

Truck stops rest stops are generally huge so thats your best bet. Most truck stops rest stops are on the outskirts of state interstate highways or towns and cities so there is traffic.

If you think you're going to have the time or energy to train like that 4-5 times a week while you're out there on the road...well you'll see what I mean.

Probably true on the time part. People that are used to training like that have like 1000% more stamina than your average truck driver so the energy part probably not an issue.

In due time OP will pull into a rest stop, just roll back into the sleeper for a nap, not bother to get out of the rig. Too much effort to walk to the rest stop facilities when you've got a pee bottle right handy, fill that up a little more and take some z-z-z-z's.

Ill scope out-the area for for a run, and as I'm getting unloaded I'll run a quick 2 miler. You can run 1/4 mile intervals if you feel uneasy with a sketchy area in a spot that's safe.
