Line haul is the job title for the people that drive from one terminal to another or meet for a switch in the LTL field. Its typically a third shift job. Pull dubs just means I pull a combo set, two pups, aka dubs for doubles.

Look, I retired from ARCO which was a top oil company. Rated 7th overall and only was on the west coast. Usually, we required 5 years experience with at least 2 years hauling gasoline. But I have seen a few drivers over the years that got hired right out of school. It's the way they went about getting the job that got them hired. Find a company you like and GO in there and talk with them. Tell them you like the company and want to work for them on a permanent basis and would like to retire from them. Then ask them what can you do to help your chances to get hired on. Then fill out an application and keep going back in to update it and just check in. About once a month. I guarantee they will remember you when they go looking for new hires. Trust me it's the best way far ahead of calling or mailing an application. If you have a job right now stay there until you get hired on. Leave the crap jobs for someone else.
