750 should be plenty safe
You will get the best overall efficiency when you can barely see sand coming out. I usually point the nozzle at my part and slowly open the sand gate until I see something happening and then just a little more. Putting to much sand in the air actually reduces your cleaning efficiency by slowing down the stream. If you’re going to use a harbor freight pot ditch that pos hose and nozzle before you start
McMaster car has good quality hose by the foot and decent nozzles. Maybe with a normal shop compressor it won’t matter but I would blow out the hose pretty fast
