Well that might be something for me to invest in. Thank you for the reply. I need to replace my crappy Uniden Bearcat 880. I have had issues out of it since I bought it even after having it peaked and tuned.

Sounds like an antenna and/or grounding issue. Butchering(tweak n peak) the radio didn’t help one bit either.

All of a sudden I have an itch to buy another radio when I don’t need one. I’m even thinking better to get my Galaxy Pluto fixed. I’ve put an upgrade receiver in it along with the RFX75 back a few years ago. It’s been an excellent radio until it started cutting off, no modulation when keyed up.

On my AT6666 you simply go into the menu and enable CB

On my Stryker 655 you have to lift the hood and do some micro soldering (or de-soldering. Been a long time)

    Oxbow and Stringb8n Thank this.

Yes, as a couple of guys have mentioned. I've always been under the impression that the radio should have a realignment done to work properly on the 11 meter band. Which makes sense to me. But on the other hand, what about radios like the anytone AT6666 which the mod is simply done through the radios menu. Does the manufacturer recommend another alignment after menu mod? Maybe not, since the cb band falls in between the 10 and 12 meter band that it was originally aligned to. Hopefully Timin770 can answer that question. Not sure if he had his Anytone realigned or not.

I didn't do anything other than enable CB. Maybe someone else with more technical insight can enlighten us

Okay, I assume it has been transmitting and receiving just fine, or a least meeting your expectations. If that's the case, maybe it's not necessary to have an alignment done. Makes a person wonder if some techs insist on that service to their customers just to pad their wallet? Na, probably not.

I’ll revive an old thread. I’m using an Anytone 6666 pro as a cb. It’s my understanding they are made by the same company that makes Stryker’s. They are the same chassis as the 447hpc2. Besides having side band, 2 interesting features they have are a built-in dsp board to reduce RX noise, and a built-in npc circuit.
