Dave pull a Piston out of a Cummins Signature and you will find its Not Cummins but Mahle..
Drop a Piston from A Cat C18 and guess what Its Mahle!!!!
Genuine is not genuine anymore and they all use different manufacturers to make parts.
Cat are actually going to another manufacturer with their C27/C32 pistons as the Mahle are giving problems. (KS) Karl Schmit Unisia Pistons.

If its a C15 i use a lot of IPD engine kits and i tend to wind the HP up and give them what for and they are as good as the Cat/Mahle pistons.

Find out who else is buying these API (Ive not heard of them) and ring them and see what sort of HP and miles they get in Australian conditions.. also ask what they are pulling... a lot of difference between 3 trailers in OZ and a 52' flat top in USA

speedyc-16 and AUSSIE DAVE Thank this.

great info, i found that pai make mack parts as well as many others, i purchased the inframe kit and i am in the process odf installing it, i have to date installed the mains, rods, pistons rings, so the bottom end is done. fyi used molybond GA50 on the main and rod bearings, and dino 2 stroke oil on the rings and piston skirts and liners internally, externally and on the seal i used pamolive dish washing liquid.
