This four wheeler clearance flashes and 9 times out of 10 will get a ty flash.
I remember hearing somewhere that something like 32% of accident involve lane changes and if I can show some courtesy and help make it safer, well I'm going to keep flashin.

I used to turn headlights off for a sec to let someone know it was ok to come over, then someone said, "what if they don't come back on"!
I did the high beam thing, till someone did it for me one time when my eyeballs felt like they were wrapped in sandpaper.
I don't accept the flash to come over because....did he flash or did he hit a bump? When I can see for myself it is clear to come over I come back.
Not to be rude, but you drive your rig and I'll drive mine.
"But officer, he flashed his lights, I didn't know I was only half way past him"
In very bad visibility (snow/rain) I might do the flash thing, but after I have tried the cb.
If I happen to be looking in the mirror when someone flashes the headlights, I give them a little show with the 4-ways and left turn signal as a thank you, but only if I happen to be looking. -
Deal with it ,once you get your own truck it will be fine.................

As long as the flasher...er...anyway... the flasher doesn't brights me, I will say Thank You as the flashee. For some reason, though, if I'm going to get brightsed, it's usually going to happen at the very instant I'm looking in my mirror to see where the brightser is. Yeeowch!! At best, the brightser will be completely ignored. It's just too bad more people don't know that single left blink is an invitation to do unnatural things to themselves.

what if his trainer is on this board...and the OP don't know it.....
......and the trainer starts saying.....hmmm......HMMMMMM....
I THINK I KNOW THIS GUY.......

.......i think i need a Injun dictionary.....Injun Thanks this. -
Maybe the guy just wants you to learn how to change lanes without someone telling you?

i agree, common courtesy. if we all continue to practice this, even in our 4 wheelers, maybe the roads would be not so much safer (per se) but more "friendlier" to all that use it.
sadly though, common courtesy is only in those of us that still have some. -
Lots of questions on here, Sorry for my stupidity, I meant signaling other trucks as a courtesy. There a few other things he gets mad at that I feel is right. Like I'm catching a truck going down hill, but coming behind me is another truck in the left lane flying, I'll slow down and wait to pass and let the fastest truck go first. We argue on some things.
The company is Swift, and he has been driving sense dinasours roamed the earth. I don't challenge him on his know how,
All in all he has taught me alot. I feel I know enough to get out there and do it. I know things pop up, but he has given me the tools to work threw the problems. It's just rough having 2 grown men in such a small space for so long.Last edited: Dec 4, 2010
