anyone over 65 has the right to agree, or disagree, with trucking, even if it gets boiled over, without name calling. Heck, i think we earned it. we should be able to express our thoughts. Someone disagrees, shout it out, but prove your facts with your years of experience. i dont want to end up being like "Walter", Jeff Dunham. Ha, Ha,Ha, I have seen a Lot of People over 65, end up being just like Walter. Ha, Ha,Ha

A decade ago, a new driver (although not much younger than any of us) joined the interactions in several of the social threads. I don't remember where she came up with crusty, but it was her ornery way of honoring the knowledge base of our experience that we passed on the her as she asked a million questions as she learned our industry. War and I and few others got the "crusty" appellation one night. Can't remember which mod she rooked into doing it.

Listen I only started in 2012 but I consider myself a proficient driver and I was lucky to have an old school trainer that actually knew the ins and outs.....I even learned to float and skip shift......yes I can drive a 10,13 speed as well as the auto I drive now....not bad I'd say I certainly can wipe myself as well...

201 Thanks this. -
I said majority for a reason. Every now and then a guy pops up who can actually drive and cares.Trucker61016 Thanks this.

Thanks, although, I never really thought of myself as "the man", I was just doing my job. Also, remember, that's not 3 million barreling down a 6 lane interstate with a 500hp motor, with your feet up on the dash. It was 238 Detroits with heavy loads in IH cabovers,, wedge brakes, 2 lanes, school buses, farm tractors, kids on bikes, and the ever present "Sunday driver" you couldn't get around, no communication,, it was a tense job at times, but when you actually delivered a load through all that, it was a great sense of accomplishment, and I got several "attaboys" for doing so. It's okay, I and drivers like me, paved the way for today's drivers, just like older drivers paved the way for me. Even though times have certainly changed, one thing is clear, and I'll defend to the bitter end, our country couldn't exist without us, and I'm a gone,,Wargames, Badmon, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.

Hammer, you have been a great friend here for many years now. I miss the times at Flo’s diner. We had a GREAT time there. The best people I have ever known. I really miss Otter, I still have a hard time dealing with the loss
MACK E-6 Thanks this.
