@Larryrickenbacker --
Well, it looks like everyone else missed it....
In your original post here, you said....
" As for sleep apnea, only very recently have i begun to use my CPAP machine and I'm making progress, considering the machine's been sitting it's box for 2.5 years unused."
If safety at Swift picked up on this at all--that would shoot you down--right there.
Suggestion: No offense intended--get a score of AT LEAST 90% USAGE on that next cpap usage report--and in the meantime, lose at least 50 lbs.
The 50 lbs will help out a lot with those hips and that back.
Then--fill out your next trucking job app.
At that point--I think you'll see a real difference.
You probably won't need the lisinipril anymore, either.
I used to drive for Schneider. They were REAL-LY BIG on cpap compliance, as well. So they won't be any more lenient on you than Swift.
If you still want to drive for Swift--I'd wait at least a year (and do the above) before re-applying.
Your age has nothing to do with your rejection.
Past that....I'll let @Chinatown (or someone else) make some suggestions.

If I were you I'd go ahead and apply with other companies...you're not doing anything else right now...and see what happens. Somebody somewhere will hire you.
I'll tag @Chinatown . He's sort of a guru when it comes to job searches. Good luck to you and let us know what happens.Opus, Another Canadian driver, Boondock and 2 others Thank this. -

Try CRST and Stevens Transport.

Where is your location. Might be a company close by that does a "Dock-to-Driver" program, which doesn't require cdl school.

I'd definitely try Stevens Transport. I met a guy in PA who drove for them. He was in his first year....at 70! Try any place that has a school. If you have some cash on hand, try Witte Bros out of Troy, MO. You'll go right into refrigerated trucking with them and word is that they are very thorough with their training, but they slip through the cracks.

Best of luckAnother Canadian driver, Boondock and bryan21384 Thank this.
