Ask your recruiter what they need to work around that. My Prime recruiter told me how to get around the speed bumps. I haven't accepted their offer yet, but it's still on the table. Prime is picky. That's a good thing.

I think you missed the important part .. It is the Insurance companies more than Prime...My wife has gone to work just to have a work history.. she had been at home for the past 12 yrs but knowing we want to team drive in about 2.5 years she took a job just for the work history...

As for when it all went to crap like this ? I believe it was 9-11-2001 .

That was good thinking ahead by you and your wife d33rhunter...wish I had known this before applying. Yeah I agree with you about insurance companies....i personally cant stand em, they drive expenses up on everything and nowadays its a #### law that you have to have insurance on every single thing you own. Not to mention the millions of insurance commercials on tv everyday is enough to drive me crazy

Employment history gaps, along with criminal history (arrest, trial, NOT GUILTY verdict!) Yes, found NOT guilty over 25 years ago. Something that's NOT on my criminal record, but they managed to dig it up and STILL wanted a detailed explanation.

Prime is self-insured. Thanks for playing.

The self insured companies can be pretty anal as well, in effect, they become insurers.

thats another good point...even if they do self-insure, they probably turn into the same nastiness u see from insurance companies themselves.

But really, if Prime does this because of pressure from insurance, wouldn't they be more worried about criminal convictions and driving record? A lapse in employment shouldn't indicate that someone would be a more risky driver on the road...it should simply indicate they have had trouble seeking employment, or had personal issues to deal with.
