Can anyone tell me if we run like a team during training? Or, does the trainer ride shotgun when trainee drives?

Not a crazy question. During my training at USA 4 years ago, we ran teams and the truck never stopped. Hated that. You wonder how much value there is driving with your trainer sleepin in the bunk.

You operate as a solo truck until you are licensed and then may switch to team once your trainer is comfortable with it. Just started with Millis in OH Monday, and that was how it was explained to us today.

yeah when you have a permit the trainer has to be in the passenger seat. once you get your cdl he can go back in the bunk. mine stays in the seat mostly unless he knows that i know where i am going then he goes in the sleeper and its lights out for him.

reguarding you driving it really all depends on the trip. my trainer would have me drive first to get my 4 hours out of the way and then he would take over most of the time. sometimes he would hold my hours back so we could get somewhere at a good time. but he tried his best to get me credit for every day

So I guess there will be times when the trainer drives while the student sleeps.

Got a call from Alice this afternoon!! Only asking if it was ok to contact my current employer though :( ...which is fine. I was just hoping she'd ask what day I wanted to start the training !!! A step closer hopefully!

Yup completely honest, have nothing to hide at all. Been with the same company for almost 5 years now ( Cintas Corp.) with 1 accident 2 years ago on my driving record. Don't have bad credit if they run a credit report. I even sat down with my manager yesterday and had a long talk about me probably moving to a new career, that's how much confidence I have with my current employer and work history. I never have missed unpaid or unatuthorized time off, we do get sick time and vacation, never used all my sick time each year even. Honestly I believe I am a very hard worker with a great work ethic, well I have a family to support, so no choice :p. So hopefully I will be on board to start the school here in Late August/Early September!!

They are looking for a stable work history and a clean backround and MVR. Sounds like you should be good.
