JUST a volunteer ? When I was a volunteer fireman in NJ in the early 70's our response time and save percentage was higher than any paid department in the greater NJ-NY metro area including all of the five boroughs . We responded to sirens scattered around the small town of Sussex , NJ and the firehouse was not manned day or night . The sirens would go off and we would haul butt to the firehouse and head out . If you missed the truck the location would be on a blackboard on the front of the house so you could follow on.
I didn't mean it in a bad way, lol I volunteer with my county, I ride along with the paid crews and work their shifts if I want or however long I can put in, not many volunteer only stations around here anymore...
Best of luck at swift some people like it some don't. Some people also like meat and then again some don't. Be smart drive safe and get home.
Well considering they're recruting department is terrible at talking to you or calling back when they aren't there im not too sure about swift
Just my two cent....I never worked for a major, I've hauled brokered loads but if you can wait out and find a good smaller company it might benefit you more!?
Here's lesson number one in dealing with any monster , mega corporation : you are one of a huge herd and individually do not matter . Sucks , but ... Be the squeaky wheel . Leave so many messages that you get called back just to get you to stop . Good luck and hang in there . Frank
