Completely forgot & overlooked mention of teaming.
Been there, done that. Instructor & trainer for years in past.
All I can say is, think long & hard about that.
You are literally entrusting your life to another individual. Hopefully, you would at least already know them well to be confident in that kind of trust.
Also, realize IT IS 24/7 locked in a small box with no privacy. Friends, family & spouses relationships have been broken by such situations.
That said, I had a great experience with first team situation. Other individual started a month before myself & we only intended to team for a month or two to gain our own legs. Wound up having such a blast, we stuck together for about a year.
Only probs were he snored louder than anyone I have ever seen in my life (snoring drives me absolutely #######) & he thrived on cold. I'm a freeze baby. The good times overcame our differences & we made it work.
As far as students..... well, I definitely can tell some stories. Biggest was the one that left us hanging off a mountain cliff with only a single tree holding truck from plunging into the abyss. (Remember, trusting your life.......). Got him through & very good friend to this day.
Most other students & team situations were overall good & fun.
They few that weren't, they never existed.... (OTR serial killers, right.....?). LOL
Seriously, you really need to think hard on teaming. The little bit of additional money, if it even is there, will come at a cost. And, that is only IF you both have the same go getter work ethic & drive.
It definately requires tolerance & the patience of JOB to make it work.Oxbow, nextgentrucker and UnderdogVigilante Thank this. -
Just thought of some perspective from me on teaming for you.
In the 13yrs I've been in this, I have met & know one hell of a lot of drivers.
There are only 3 that I would trust enough to put my life in their hands. -
Yeah. I did think on that and decided it's a bad idea. Hubby also said he didn't think it would work because I'm anal about a lot of things. So yea no, not do8ng it.tscottme Thanks this.
-
Yea valid point. As I said, I thought about it and not going to do that.tscottme Thanks this.
