Hazmat and Tanker go together. Moving IBC totes is common. Not having tanker creates a problem for you and the employer. You get fingerprinted at TSA for the hazmat background, the school will let you know, and add TWIC (haul from ports) at the same time for a discounted cost compared to adding it later.
Hazmat, Tanker, TWIC, TSA, Doubles and Triples. An employer may have additional testing for food grade hauling. If you test on a manual transmission you may drive manual or automatic. If you test on an automatic you may not drive a manual. Check your blood pressure before you go for your medical just so you know. You want a two year medical to avoid the hassle of a one year (or less). Do not use any marijuana related product and check online for prohibited medicines. You may be a certain stature but that doesn't mean an employer won't have your perform an agility test. (up and down steps for a duration, lifting a box a number of times, getting in/out of a trailer, scampering under a trailer)

I could never team because I need more than 5-10 minutes of sleep during my 10 hour break. Even 60 10-minute naps during my 10 isn't the same as 8 hours of continuous sleep. A moving truck, pot holes, loud noise, & emergency braking is not good for sleeping. It's a recipe for a violent felony. LOL
UnderdogVigilante and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
