April 9th orientation in marshfield

i've only had trouble twice, both at lake champlain in new york. the first time the american customs agent didn't know what a 7512b form was and tried to make me fill out a blank ACE manifest for a transit re-entry. the second time the canadian agent took my paper and stamped it NO PAPS right next to the PAPS sticker.

both times it took somebody else to overrule them, but i was out without a lot of delay. waiting in line to get to the window takes more time than anything else when i go through.

 

Tomorrow morning I test out. I'm in Gary now, after being trained OTR for 9 days. I've been told I'll have no problem passing all tests, but I don't want anything left to chance...tonight I plan to study parts of the DRG before bed...will probably be up super early again tomorrow, just from nerves.
Our last haul was around 46000 pounds of paper rolls, hauled through West Virginia over the mountains...I can't say I regretted having my hours near gone before hitting that area...

Hey T did ya pass..... I think I saw you at the maint counter waiting to get a truck but I had to scan paperwork and boogie cause my 14 were ticking and I needed every minute I had to get this load to PA by tomorrow...otherwise I would have stopped and shot the breeze with ya...lol

Yup!! I passed all tests and got issued a truck. They dug up a 2012 Prostar for me, and I didn't even have to leave the terminal to get it!

 

Thats what I was worried about, too...but I had my bags in the sleeper by 4pm after testing, which lasted til 1 or 2...that may be a record??
