It only looks like 1200 watts to run and think of the space you will save...don't have to set up the window unit.... you got me started on the rooftop unit don't turn now

If you go with a Coleman type AC unit, you should probably want to spec a generator that has 3500W or more output, so that you don't have to shut off the AC every time you want to use the microwave or something else.

Well I am in Mo and have all the toys, oops I meant tools, to do everything needed including make a bracket/box to hold it all.
As soon as I pick the rooftop ac, I will be taking the plunge I think.
I notice that the EU3000 has a 12 amp 12vdc output vs the "normal" 8 amp dc output....

All I have is a coffee pot and the TV, of which run off the inverter.
The generator will purely be used for ac/heat/block heater/battery charger. No microwave etc in my rig.
Main issue is, will the "normal" Coleman rooftop ac units handle getting the abuse my old '06 Freightshaker will throw its way?

JT,I can assure you that I have installed the Coleman Mini-Mach on several customer trucks and had one on mine for 5 years with NO problems.
I did not like the "heat-strips" (Martin) cause heat rises and the thermostat is in the roof panell as you know. It's easy to wire around the oem thermostat & use a cheap wall-mount thermo. like in an R/V. Gets it down where yer at which would be better IMO. A cube-heater for 20bucks down on the floor works better I think.
I was paying about 400 bucks for the mini w/panell, but that was about 6 years ago & I was ordering 2 at a time.

JT shoot me a pm. I'll make you an offer.

Exactly YES that's the same unit (polar-cub) but the price is up considerable. It will do ya fine as mine did good running the south (tx,la,ms,al,fl,etc) in the summer. 9200 btus is enough for even the pro-sleeper that was on my 2000, int.9900-i.

edit; it actually cooled the truck better than the 12,000btu unit I'm using now.

    Cowpie1 Thanks this.
