Im pretty sure I heard US Express trucks don't have apu's but my buddy who got hired on recently there says he has one of 6 Petes that has the battery APU that runs the a/c until the batteries drain. He says it's a test truck. Maybe y'all are about to start getting them?

Whats their idling policy?

Truck will cut off in 5 minutes. .. if not within a certain (outside) temperature range ...
No idling what so ever at the terminals....Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
Probably better just to run team?
I can sleep better in a moving truck, compared to one too hor or cold. -
Steel Dragon Thanks this.

They do not keep the trucks long enough to make an APU pay off. I don't think they have any trucks older than three years.
MzBigTruckz Thanks this. -
The bigger reason is they lease there trucks and don't spec them with them so they are not able to modify them in significant ways. On solo trucks an apu would pay off in about 2 years and still raise the resale value some. Team trucks if they ran them the way they should shouldn't even need idle control as they should be running nearly 24/7 so a non issue.
