I do the same, don't keep as much food but leave everything in the truck. Only take home dirty clothes and trash if any. Also, now in winter the apu will turn on to keep engine kind of warm if setup to do so.

I actually try and even do all my laundry before home, once in awhile I’ll bring my bag in but I make dang sure it stays together
I know it’s a little pain but I hate getting back out on the road and have forgotten something

I try and take nothing off my truck then I know I have everything I went home with

If you. Have a carrier or a thermo king both have battery monitoring.
Just need to be set up properly. carrier you can set the timer to come on at a predetermined time snd have it precool or preheat the truck.
What’s the fascination or fear of leaving truck off and or apu off. Other than fridge on. But they need to defrost occasionally.
Truck will start if prepped and prepared.

I guess I should have made this clear... I really don't care on a personal level if I run the apu or not...I was more concerned with what companies prefer that you do while on home time thanks

If that's the case, I'll refer you to post #2.

I always left mine on. For the amount of fuel they burn I don't feel it's that big of an issue.

If you have a thermoking APU and set the APU switch to the middle position which is fan only with the fan switch to off it will only start the APU to keep the batteries charged that's if you're running a refrigerator during your home time

I never did more than turn off the truck engine and take my keys when temps are above 0 F.. The APU will run occasionally to keep batteries charged. I've taken a 24 hour layover at 0 F. I idled the truck engine.

Yes, but, probably just on battery saver mode: not heat or cool…
