If we were only stuck 10 hrs or less wherever we go, throughout the year, the following below, would be a non issue. Take into account the unforseen layover, the 34 hr reset etc and 10 hrs just isn't enough.

Until the battery gurus that be figure out how to:

    1. Get more than 10 hrs on a bank of 4

    2. Recharge said bank in a lot less than 6 hrs

Diesel apu's will have the advantage. Technology still has some catching up to do.

My experience also. I think we are entering the "Harley" debate here.

2 ProStars with the same and NEVER had an issue. 115 in Palm Springs CA to -03 in Winnipeg MB and never an issue. The only thing was, it scared the crap outta' me the first coupla' times the engine restarted to recharge. It was so quiet, then BOOM, the chime went off then the engine started. I was dead asleep then BOOM!!! LOL :biggrin_2552::biggrin_2552::biggrin_2552: LOL! But then I got used to the "starting" thing and I liked it. JUST MY OPINION!!!

I see a lot of "I heards" coming out of the diesel camp. Use whatever you feel comfortable with and suits YOUR budget. I've had both and I would take whatever came, as long as it worked!!!

    Yes Sir.
Honda EU3000is and a Dometic 13,500 BTU rooftop.
I fully understand what you mean about them either walking (shock horror) to a gas pump, or dropping and filling everything up. Works perfectly for the less lazy O/O though mate.

The thing is it's hard to decide where should install it without getting rid my side fairings and relocate the air tanks.

I got a t600 without the side fairings, but the air tanks were not in the way at all you only need 18 inches of space,

You don't have to sacrifice the side fairing. Mine used to have a pro-heat apu (same size as carrier) mounted just in front of the right drive's quarter fender. The air tanks are tucked under the cat walk in between the quarter fender and where the apu was mounted, which sat directly below the stack. It was a little tight but nicely tucked in behind the fairing. It can be done on a T6. Fairing had to be removed to service the unit.

18 inches is plenty of room in that spot.

that's exactly where my dynasys is mounted, it requires 18 inches.
