APU's VS. Do It Yourself

    mounted it backwards because of the interior of the volvo. the space that was available for the hole dictated it. if not it would have hung off the back of the cab way , way too much. burns a lot less than a gallon an hour. one place the savings come in , is from reduced engine idle wear. also i think you are going to see in the near future you will have some sort of no idle device(genset, batteries, ???) or you will do like our forefathers and you will be hammocking under trailers or simply sweating or freezing your ### off. it is coming boys and girls . i ain't selling nothing but just look at all the regs and impending regs. i can post pictures of the install if anyone is interested.i also have a shopbuilt sink in my truck and a shower in my conestoga. makes trucking a whole lot nicer.:biggrin_25519:

    I've been contemplating putting a shower set up in my dry van to use when its empty. Can't put a shower in my 48 in low roof sleeper and wouldnt want the humidity it would produce if I had the room. How is yours set up?

    tank is from northern tool, 12 volt power to pump motor, rv shower head. pretty simple.hope this helps, johnny

    Yea that is what I am leaning towards. I was actually thinking of a window unit that is easily romovable. Think idle air.

    Ive thought about doing the same thing. I live in NC also, where did you get your genset? Very good work.
