I'm looking into making the jump into trucking but now I'm starting to see a lot of companies want you to test for sleep apnea and tape your neck etc. etc.
I've been down that road in the military and I really don't want to get into another situation where my employer's number one concern is my waist measurement...
I am 6'2" slightly under 300 lbs. I'm a bigger guy, not a bodybuilder by any means, but definitely not a sweatpants and flipflops sloppy fat guy either.
Are all companies concerned about BMI, neck measurements, etc.? I ask because I'm right around 17 inches on my neck and if I'm going to be given the medical run around just to get in the door I'm going to find another career to look into.
Are bigger guys given a harder time?

If you are worryed how your toenails look, move on. You want to drive, your in the right place. Flat bed is where to start. A big man is seldom disputed. I' 5 9, 211lbs, Heavy haul. You can do it, or you can watch.

If you're worried about it, go with a smaller company. But about a year ago I seen a Covanant driver that literally huge. I'm talking probably 400-450 pounds, not kidding. And if he got through the process, anyone will. 300 pounds isn't unheard of in this industry. Most of these companies focus on the driving test, physical, drug test. But join a gym man. I'm not calling you any names or anything but some people look down on "big guys" climbing out of a truck at a truck stop. Just dress like you care and shower as much as possible and you won't have those problems.
Redex Thanks this. -
Flatbed is what I've been looking into, because I like the physical work and it wouldn't be a problem for me.

We had one in my last orientation that was an easy 7 ft and 450 lbs. He had to duck down going through the door ways.
We talked on the phone every now and then. He had a bad habit and would rather be in the casino's than delivering. He lasted about 3 months.
I seen the inside of his truck once. It was so cluttered with crap you couldn't even walk. You had one little spot to put you feet down by the bunk and then in front of the driver seat. -
My dearest friend Jake Valdez, Owner Operator Runs from Edinburg to Chicago every week. He is 5'5 320 Built like a wall. Saw him pick up a Toyota car once and move it. I'm honored to be his daughters God father. Size don't matter, skill does. You want to drive? or kiss some bald headed twerps butt every few minutes. I own a full grown Freightliner. Tramp

Yea, saw one like that, he took a strap and hung himself in Little rock. I had to put the tractor on a flat bed. That smell I will never forget.
