driver if you are in a commercial vehicle or any vehicle with a dot number you cannot drive over 11 hours period. i am confused you said they made you come in the next day. hummmmmm. here is the deal you are the one holding the key. i am confused how any company can make you do anything.. this is a real problem in the industry.. dont ever let any company make you do something. you are the captain of that ship

vehicle weight has nothing to do with it. if you are in a commercial vehicle with a dot number you are under the rules. trust me. i found that out by mistake...i know there will be a thousand drivers respond and say oh no it is a weight issue. they simply dont know the rules. i speak from experience.

you are correct, but the weight issues comes in on weather or not you need a dot # on a vehicle that is based off the rated loaded capacity of the vehicle not empty weight. so a vehicle that is 5k lbs with a gvwr of 13k used for commercial purposes must follow dot law empty and loaded. however a vehicle with a empty weight of 5klbs and a gvwr of 9900 does not need a dot number and not subject to the rules
