Whatever you say Truck driver/DOC!! And it's plaque NOT place !! You're assuming that high levels of cholesterol causes these so called blockages. Kinda funny though that one of the most important organs in the body makes its own ........guess what? Cholesterol !! Produced by the liver. It couldn't function otherwise.
But go ahead and be the sucker and take your daily Lipitor/Zocor fix. We, the public are soooo gullible.
Good luck -
read it again driver... LDL cholesterall level are Indicative of plaque in veins... i'm second year pre-med. Not an expert by any means. but you made a blanket statement that is bogus and i pointed it out....

Regarding cholesterol, i had a doctor lead me on to that fish oil stuff about 6 years ago. 4 of those big horse pills every morning. I think my blood tests since have shown it had a great effect on me. I don't mind recommending it as it is easily obtainable and it is inexpensive. I have had no known bad effects from it to date. From what I understand it is like adding the good part of fish to your diet without eating fish regularly. Certainly an easy addition to a truck and requires no preparation or special storage. As for canned foods. I would take a can of corn or beans over fast food any day. I think that the experts would always recommend fresh and even organic foods. These types of foods don't always fit a busy work schedule however.

I always say an egg is a protein in a package, easy to fix any way you want.
I reckon lunchmeat and cheese could be hung on a piece of celery, it would give some crunch to the meal and be healthy also.
The last time I saw a report on salt it said that we needed about a 1/4 teaspoon of it a day. It helps in water retention, heart regulation and other key functions of the body; people low in sodium can have symptoms even mimicking a heart attack.
