are containers color-coded?

    this might be a really really stupid question, and if it is i'm sorry for asking, but i'm wondering

    I was recently passing through Mobile and as many of you know they have those containers used as a wall built into the buildings
    at the port, I personally think its a cool look. but on the side of them had geographical places written on them. at first I thought containers were just randomly colored, but that does make me ask if they are actually color-coded

    again, I apologise if this is a stupid question, but i'm sorry

    I think it just depends on who owns the container. Like companies have their own color type deal.

    Hi Jabber, no such thing as a stupid question. As far as I know, color has nothing to do with it. I do remember, for a while, some trailers (and maybe containers) had geographical scene of a certain place on the side, possibly to promote the intermodal business
