are cpm contracts profitable?

    but there really isn't much to know. the carrier I'm with you almost have to try to not make atleast 1.80. and that is a full 40 cpm more than every cpm contract based pay I see at their being advertised. I just don't understand why people would choose to earn that much less.

    I was on a cpm contract that paid out at 1.48pm, which varied with the fuel surcharge. I brought in about $2,000 a week net with accessorial charges like stop pay, detention etc. Where it was convienient was paid base plates, permits and fuel taxes. empty miles were paid and didnt cut into loaded revenue like when Im on % like Iam now. They both have they're benefits, its about preference. There was always freight, even in bad areas, and no winter slow down except for two weeks at Christmas. I'am on % now and it is hurting, but it has more too do with the company Iam leased too. Im looking too move elsewhere, but Iam still in the research process.

    if your not scared of tarping on occasion you would do excellent with landstar or mercer living in Ohio
