EOBRs will create a new driver. They will drive when the computer says drive. They will drive tired and
exhausted when told to do so.

They will either burn out and quit(the preferable outcome) or they will eventually put the truck in the ditch and hopefully not be killing anyone in the process.

Electronic On Board Running Death Sentence.

X#1 that is one of the things i hated about trucking, shower bag in hand raining cats and dogs, and some super trucker pulls in front of you at the fuel pump, so you have to walk around him in the rain. with a pro record of 18 wins 2 losses sometimes would stand by the door and ask him to come out. i was already wet so why not. that is one thing in trucking i could never understand why someone would do that to someother driver

    x#1 Thanks this.

Whoa now whats wrong with taking an hour lunch break? I actually sit down and enjoy my meal since I do deserve to relax with all the hard work I put in. Guys having to run 10-11 hours a day with only a 30 minute lunch break are doing it all wrong.

I have been on one for 3 years now. None of this is true for me.

If I am too tired or sick to drive I stop, call and the load gets rescheduled. If it takes me 8-10 hours to get loaded and I didn't sleep I will run a couple of hours and take an 8 hour sleeper berth break if I am tired. If that makes the load late so be it. Never had a problem with my company over it. I also got paid hourly while they loaded me so money wasn't an issue pushing me.

There is no reason you can't be the captain of your ship on an Elog if you have the brass to stand up to who is really pushing you. Its not the little black box in the truck. Its someone behind a desk.

My view is that a person is going to be either a good, safe driver or they're going to be just another crap driver regardless of which logs they're on. Logs don't make the driver, the individual does.

Come on now, your a trucker not a human being. 15 min. to pee and eat something should be all you need.
