yep, I can run Denver to Bozeman, 11 hrs, with a 5 minute "pee" break every 3 hours, just enough time to get any kinks out of my legs and back and drain a vein then back behind the wheel. If I really need a stop, I'll find a quick stop to grab something to drink and a snack, but even then it's still never more than 10 minutes. The only times I'll sit and eat a meal in a restaurant is breakfast or dinner, I always eat lunch on the run, whether I bring it to work with me that morning or stop and grab something while on the road. I see so many guys guilty of what Rick's saying.

why do you think intermodal and regional are going to become more of the norm. We just picked up an account with Prime for running meat loads, and possibly some other stuff, they can get it done slightly quicker, it's also allowing them to put more weight on the trailer.

Not sure I ever want to work as a company driver with one.

The last company I worked at had quallcom tracking. The dispatcher called me in the middle of the night after they had calculated the truck could move. It was 3 in the morning. The quallcom started beeping as well.

After the call, I could not get back to sleep, so I just got up and left with the load.

E-logs can't make you do any more than what's legal . Anybody that can't handle that doesn't need to be in the industry .
Regardless of paper or e-logs or available hours driving while ill or fatigued is prohibited by FMCSR . Don't go blaming anyone but yourself if you drive fatigued .

    Not that I knew.

But they called my phone as well.

The worst part is that it was not a 10 hour break. They figured that I still had hours to run on a split log.

I can see it being abused by some companies.

I stopped to use the shower and got a call from my dispatcher about the truck not moving.

only if the drivers allow it, but when they sign for a L/P thats stacked against them I guess dtivers will allow anything to happen to them..
