If you are willing to work, and run team with all money going into one acct. you can make money on a lease.
I would probably go with a different company, but that is up to you.
I know that several have decent lease deals with 1 dollar buy outs at the end of the lease. JCT and....crap....drawing a blank.....reffer company out of Springfield MO, not prime lol. 3 letters OC something.

I do not work at Central anymore, but I am at Heartland Express now. We hire teams both as company, or if you wanted to lease a truck they have a program worked out with an International dealer in Iowa. You pay 1000 down, but get that back on first settlement, and truck is leased from International, not from the company.
So you could move with it if you wanted. I believe that is a capital lease also, so would be a small buyout. Not balloon payment like Central has.

The trick with leasing and making allot of money is to team with all money going into one acct. You have this, and thus should do well.

in this economy id straight up not lease a truck from anyone you need to get some experience before you lease examples how many miles do i have to do per week to pay for payment, fuel, tire wear, permits, insurance, and[ god forbid ]repairs on the darn thing and then after all of that you have to pay yourself if you have all that figured out and it looks great then id run like the dickens but if it just barely makes the amount that you have figured then go for it trust me if it looks too good then it darn sure is in this business

They have a few years experiance driving, and in any economy if they go to a company that runs teams well they can make money.
Big thing is to make sure that the truck is not a dud, and that it is at the right price, and that they get paid a fair rate.
Do not go to any company that wants to pay less than .90 cpm plus FSC. It is just not smart.

Thank you I forgot to mention that I was an Accountant and money and numbers is my game. I have only been driving for two years but my boyfriend has been driving since 91. I am the rookie begging for information before I take the leap. I have only driven for Covenant so I do not know what other companies offer. So any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Not trying to ruffle feathers but thank you again.

I will try to explain it as I see it. the lease program is just that a lease. At the end of the lease you can buy the truck but what I am hearing is it is about half of the purchase price you would pay new. You have already paid for the truck in the three years you have leased it. Now they want you to pay half again. This is so that you will lease another new truck for three years. and another and another. So please think long and hard about it. I was almost going to do it. I looked at the bottom line at the end of the race. not just the weekly and I could not justify paying twice for a truck that is run hard and put away wet. And to make money here you have to do just that.
