Like I mentioned. The auto has a learning curve
I pull a spread flatbed trailer and when making a turn. Especially a left it would start in say 4th then as I started the turn the spread would have some resistance and I could watch the selection go from 4 to 2 to 3 to 2 etc
It #### near killed me a few times
After it would just stop and give up I learned to put it in manual before any turns

We ran a lot harder back then. We didn't go to sleep, we passed out exhausted.

I can tell you right now you would not have cut it through his class. He’s actually known as one of the best instructors in the country. Only 45% of Students who start the course completed and passed. When he puts his name on your CDL, he knows you’re good to at least have your foot in the door. The first trainer I had after finishing the school told me, “you’re the first trainee in about 10 in a row that I haven’t had to tell to go back to your school and ask for a refund”. Seriously it’s true! Did I know everything? Of course not. But I was better than nine out of 10 drivers coming fresh out of school because of the school I chose.

Was your goal before school to be good at what you do? One student will see an instructor or trainer as a tyrant while another will see the same person as a guru.

So who rates "the best instructors in the country"? Him, his school, is there a national data base? Not saying he wasn't but to prohibit someone from using the word automatic in "his" class sounds like he has a bit of a macho ego thing going on. Name of school?

My right rotator cup has bothered me on and off years. Tore it good a couple yrs ago, couldn’t lift my arm for a month. Once in a while it’s almost impossible to shift for a few days. It hurts constantly now. Keeps me awake sometimes. I wouldn’t mind an automatic. Just for that reason.
